Sales Executive / Customer Account Manager with Topline a well established independent IT company based in South Birmingham supplying a wide range of IT services, hardware & software, including complete network solutions and telecoms.
Topline is primarily an IT service business. Our customers range from private individuals and home businesses up to larger businesses and education.
The key aspects of the position are:
- Ensuring that new and existing customers are receiving the quality of service we expect and that we are continuing to deliver service in line with their requirements.
- Ensuring that customers understand the ethos of our business and what makes Topline different from the majority of our competitors.
- Identifying new customers, creating and developing sustainable relationships, promoting services relevant to the customer's needs.
- Exploring new opportunities from briefs provided to you.
- Identifying new opportunities in the market place.
- Responding to new sales leads from new and existing customers.
- Keeping yourself up to date with products available in the industry and products and services available from Topline.
It is likely that you will have a background in sales or account management.
Applicants should be able to produce evidence of good school leaving qualifications. A degree level qualification is not a prerequisite for this role but would be beneficial.
It is not necessary for applicants for this position to have a technical qualification or detailed working knowledge of communications or IT technology. However it is expected that applicants will, as a minimum, be able to demonstrate that they have a good general knowledge of the communications, IT products and services that are required by a small to medium size enterprise.
This is a full time position based in South Birmingham.
A full driving licence is required for this position.
Applicants invited to an interview will be given the opportunity to explain verbally, supported by a printed or computer generated presentation lasting no longer than 3 minutes:
- How you would find and develop new customer relationships, supporting your proposals with references to previous work where possible.
- What a customer is looking for in an IT Support supplier and why specifically a small to medium enterprise customer would benefit from outsourcing their IT support to Topline.
- Detail the products and services you would expect to be talking to our customers about, what revenue you would expect to see from a new account during the first year of trade, and how you would achieve this.
- Following your presentation you should be prepared to discuss and expand on any claims or suggestions made.
Please be prepared to leave a copy of your presentation with the interviewers. If you make your presentation using a laptop computer you will need to provide a printed copy for our retention. If you wish to leave an additional copy in digital form you are welcome to do so. This presentation will be considered to form part of your employment application, as such it is important that the content and preparation is your own work and that any references it may contain to your previous experience are accurate.

Remuneration for this position will be set according to experience, abilities and qualifications. Any offer made will consist of a good basic salary + commission / performance related bonus.
